Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev is the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University, Head of Department “Industrial Economics and Management” and Director of the master’s programs “Energy Markets and Services” and “Nuclear Technologies, Management, and Innovations. He also teaches courses at the Diplomatic Institute at the Bulgarian MFA and is publisher of the Utilities Magazine. Atanas defended a PhD dissertation on the institutional independence of energy regulatory authorities at SU and has Master’s Degrees in “Energy Economics” and “Finance and Banking” from the same university. He is active in the management of a number of business associations: the National Committee of Bulgaria in the World Energy Council, the Industrial Cluster "Electric Mobility", and the Council for Innovation, Digitalization and New Technologies at the BCCI. He is also an independent member of the Supervisory Board at UniCredit Bulbank.
